The English word “evangelism” comes from the Greek word euaggelion. As a noun, the word literally translated means: “gospel” or “good news.”
In the verb form (euaggelizesthai), the meaning of the word changes to mean “announce” or ‘bring good news.’ The Greek word appears fifty-five times in the New Testament, and, in some versions of the Bible, the word is translated as ‘preach.’
